Angelo Izama is a Ugandan journalist, writer, and analyst. He is team leader at VRS – part of the human security focused think tank Fanaka Kwawote that he co-founded in 2008. At VRS, and on its for-profit desk he oversees research-for-action especially applied due diligence and political risk analysis that aims to provide affordable insights and solutions into African energy and extractive sectors for multi-national NGOs and regional governments.
Izama is a recipient of several prestigious awards and fellowships, including the Knight Fellowship at Stanford University, the Reagan-Fascell Democracy fellowship and the Open Society Fellowship. He is currently a visiting scholar at New York University in Abu Dhabi.
