Hazel Birungi is a Founding member and Director of Programs at the Youth for Tax Justice Network. She is passionate about taxation, financing for development and tax justice with particular interest in the effect and involvement of women and youth. Furthermore, Hazel is a blooming researcher who seeks to explore the nexus between gender and tax. Hazel has three years of experience working with youth and communities attained through her time at university. She has worked with organizations such as The Public Interest Law Clinic, The Network of Public Interest Lawyers, Chapter Four Uganda, Tax Justice Network Africa and The International Centre for Tax and Development. Hazel will attain her bachelor of laws degree from Makerere University on the 18 January 2019.
