The Huduma Fellowship is a transformative leadership program designed to develop exceptional public servants in Uganda. Through intensive training and mentorship, we cultivate leaders who are committed to excellence in public service.

Program Components
Six integrated pillars that equip Huduma Fellows with the skills, networks, and mindset to lead transformational change in public service.
Leadership Development
Monthly seminars and workshops focused on public service leadership, ethics, and governance — building the foundational skills for effective and principled leadership.
Mentorship
One-on-one guidance from experienced public service leaders and policy makers who provide strategic counsel, career navigation, and accountability.

What Our Fellows Learn
Focus
The Huduma Fellowship is built around highly integrated modules modelled along the LéO Africa Institute strategic objectives and vision for leadership in Africa. Through faculty presentations, case studies, personal assessments, individual and group exercises, and special projects, fellows engage deeply with transformational leadership principles.
Structure
The Huduma fellowship is structured along a series of two seminars and two workshops in between which Fellows spend time at their work places with occasional interface with the members of the faculty as they continue to learn and apply the knowledge and skills acquired.

Delivery
The fellowship is delivered through a combination of means: some face to face sessions, online facilitated sessions and self-study which include recommended reading materials. Through customized case studies and professional Faculty coaching, fellows develop a personal action plan to tap into their leadership and influencing skills.
Selection Criteria
Age: Between 25-35 years old
Interest: Demonstrable interest in volunteerism and civic & public service
Professional Background: Early stage professionals working in the civic & public sectors in Uganda
Intellectual Curiosity: Interested in public affairs and committed to continuous learning
Geography: Based in Uganda or working on Uganda-focused public service initiatives
Commitment: Available to participate in all seminars, workshops, and fellowship activities
