Raymond Natukunda is an energy and innovation professional with expertise at the intersection of power systems, policy, and intellectual property. He currently serves as an Energy Officer for Electrical Generation at Uganda's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, where he contributes to national power sector planning through development of electricity generation strategic policies and investment plans. His work spans project preparation and appraisal, supervision of electricity generation projects and plants, and the review of Project agreements for new electricity generation infrastructure, all aimed at expanding Uganda's installed generation capacity and securing the electricity supply needed to power Uganda's economic development.

Beyond his role in the public sector, Raymond is Co-Founder and Operations Lead at Innovent Labs Africa, where he supports organizations in developing and implementing Research, Innovation and Intellectual Property Management Plans and assists small and growing businesses in implementation of Quality Management plans that enable sustainable, competitive growth. He previously served as a Science Officer at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, contributing to national IP policy development, organizing IP capacity building programmes across research institutions and universities and ecosystem-building initiatives such as the inaugural Kampala Innovation Week. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Makerere University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from the Uganda Management Institute and is currently pursuing an MSc in Energy Policy at the University of Sussex.
