Malath Ochieng is a sustainability and ethical sourcing professional with expertise in responsible supply chains, social impact, and community-centered development within agricultural sectors. She currently serves as an Ethical Sourcing Executive at Twinings in Kenya, where she works closely with producers and partners in the tea and herbs industry to strengthen compliance with sustainability standards, support certification processes, and drive initiatives that improve livelihoods across value chains. Her work emphasizes safe working conditions, gender equity, and access to essential services such as water, sanitation, and hygiene (WaSH).
With a background spanning child protection, gender empowerment, and humanitarian programming, Malath brings a people-first approach to sustainability and ESG. She has held leadership roles at organizations including Childline Kenya and Trace Kenya, focusing on safeguarding, community engagement, and capacity building. She holds a Master's degree in Development Studies and a Bachelor's in Economics and Sociology from the University of Nairobi, and is deeply committed to advancing ethical sourcing practices that prioritize dignity, resilience, and inclusive economic opportunity.
