Donald Byamugisha is an experienced trade and business consultant with a strong track record in private sector competitiveness, market systems development, and export-led growth. He has delivered assignments with the International Trade Centre (ITC), World Bank, Sida, FCDO, and USAID, working across agribusiness, services, and enterprise development in East Africa, with a focus on advancing enterprise growth, market access, job creation, and sustainable trade. He currently serves as a Market Systems Development (MSD) Advisor on the Trade for Jobs (T4J) programme (Sida-funded and implemented by ITC and ILO), where he supports the design and validation of demand-led interventions in Uganda's tourism sector, focusing on business model development, sector coordination, and aligning skills and products with international market demand.
Donald is an inaugural Fellow of the Young African Leaders Program (YELP) 2017 class at the LéO Africa Institute, as well as an Amani Institute 2018 Fellow and a World Economic Forum Global Shaper Alumni. He is deeply passionate about youth empowerment, leadership development, and technology advancement.
