Abraham Kahasha Kabral

Abraham Kahasha Kabral is a humanitarian and peacebuilding leader with experience across the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, and Tanzania. He has held roles including Project Manager, Regional Project Security Officer, Program Officer, and Field Assistant in Shelter/WASH with organizations such as the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), Migration Youth and Children Platform (MYCP), and The World and Peoples in Transformation (WOPT). His work, supported by partners including USAID, the European Union, BMZ, BHA, and Rotary International, reflects his ability to manage complex projects in fragile contexts. He is a Rotary Peace Fellow, Mandela Washington Fellow, One Young World Ambassador, and a Fellow of the Kroc Institute Strategic Peacebuilding Academy at the University of Notre Dame, with further training from Syracuse University and Makerere University.

He is the Founder and Programmes Director of the Refugee Bank for Africa (RBAf), based in Goma, DRC, where he supports refugees and internally displaced persons through access to finance and skills development. He also leads The World and Peoples in Transformation (WOPT), focusing on conflict transformation through mediation, dialogue, and youth-led initiatives. A YELP Fellow of the LéO Africa Institute, Abraham's work centers on peacebuilding, youth engagement, and environmental advocacy, and he is fluent in French, English, and Swahili.
